Mechanical engineering is a very technical and rigorous bachelor’s degree, requiring many advanced mathematics and physics courses.  The education you receive may not fully cover the importance of some of the vital skills required to be successful in the workforce.  It’s likely that you’ll have to coordinate with people regularly, potentially half of your working hours or more.  It can be difficult to predict workplace culture until you’re actively working in it.  However, mechanical engineers create innovations in some of the most important industries, including the creation of biomedical mobility devices, renewable energy solutions, space exploration, and agricultural advancements. Mechanical engineering is a creative, technical, communication-driven career path, and only you can decide if that is appealing or not.
